Agnus Castus
Used since the times of the ancient Greeks to treat women's health complaints. Originally used to ease the pain of childbirth and to help strengthen a woman's sexual organs and balance the sex hormones.
Now used to help menstrual cycle irregularities and PMS complaints and discomforts such as swollen or tender breasts. Best for premenopausal women.
Aloe Vera
This herbal use goes back over 4,000 years to the times of the ancient Egyptians and before. and re-discovered before the second world war when it was discovered that it soothed radiation burns from X-rays when all other remedies seemed to fail.
Has over 200 active ingredients and has a varied capability as a healing agent. Well known for its ability to promote healthy skin and taken internally a healthy stomach lining and helps normal digestion. Has soothing and healing properties.
Black Cohosh
Relieves uncomfortable symptoms associated with menopause such as hot flushes, nervousness, anxiety and depression, also premenstrual discomfort and menstrual cramps. Slow acting.
Cranberry
Combats urinary tract infections and maintains bladder and kidney health. Good source of vitamin C.
Dong Quai
Used to regulate female hormone balance, increase energy, and treat gynecological conditions such as PMS and menopause. Sometimes referred to as the ginseng for women. Improves blood circulation and has a mild calming effect. Also alleviates constipation.
Evening Primrose Oil
An important source of GLA - gamma linolenic acid used in the production of hormones that regulate many cellular activities. They keep blood platelets from sticking together, control cholesterol formation, reduce inflammation, improve the working of insulin, nerve functioning and immune system functioning. May also help people suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. Thins and dilates blood vessels and regulates blood pressure. Maintains healthy skin.
Folic Acid
A water soluble B complex vitamin used in the formation of genetic compounds - DNA and RNA, and helps in the metabolic processes. Essential for the growth and development of body cells, energy production, and the formation of blood cells.
Important in the development of the nervous system in the unborn fetus and reduces the incidence of certain birth defects such as spinal bifida when taken pre-conceptually during the first three months of pregnancy, and also decreases the incidence of premature birth. Helps prevent anemia, improves lactation in breast feeding mothers. Required for cell division and useful in controlling pain. Aids in protein and carbohydrate metabolism.
Lecithin
Supplies the body with an essential nutrient that is involved with brain development, learning and fertility. Can help lower serum cholesterol, improve short term memory and improve endurance.
Is a very effective emulsifier of fats and thus helps it's absorption and widely used as a supplement for weight watchers.
Red Clover
The plant has high concentrations of is flavones which have health promoting effects associated with menopause, anti-aging, cardiovascular health, bone building and reduction of certain types of cancer risk.
Royal Jelly
Produced by the glands of worker bees, is a milky white, and being nutrient rich, is fed by the bees to the bee larva to ensure their good health and survival. Only the queen bee takes royal jelly regularly throughout her life, and since she lives longer than any of the other bees, is believed to increase longevity. It also makes the queen bee extremely fertile.
Improves energy levels, mental reflexivity and may improve sexual function. Starflower Oil
Also known as borage and is an important source of GLA, gamma linolenic acid. Promotes healthy skin, hormonal balance, and relieves rheumatoid arthritis pain.
Wild Yam
Mexican wild yam has traditionally been used as a remedy for infertility and was used in the manufacture of the original birth control pill. It regulates hormone levels and is particularly beneficial to women who suffer from PMS, menopausal symptoms and other gynecological discomfort.
Anti-inflammatory and useful in the treatment of gastrointestinal distress, rheumatoid arthritis and eases nervous excitement.
